A Parade on Main St.
in
Buffalo, New York
during the Second World War

This parade took place on Main St. in Buffalo sometime during the Second World War,
or perhaps just prior. I have yet to work out the date or do much research on these photos.
All I know is that they show a stretch of Main St. between Eagle St. and what is today Church
and Division Streets. Or at least I think so; I'm not all that familiar with the city of Buffalo.

Many years back I posted the second photo below on Flickr and made some 'notes' as to the
buildings and businesses shown. You can see that HERE. (The notes will pop up when you mouse
over the image.) If you're a member of Flickr and care to leave some comments, by all means,
please do. As I said, I've not done much research on these photos yet, and it may be some
time before I get to it, if I get to it at all. So any information would be most welcome.

This photo supplies the only clue I've noticed so far as to a possible date for the parade.
The banner mentions the 'Army Air Forces'. The US Army Air Corps was renamed to the
US Army Air Forces on June 20th, 1941, so the photo was taken no earlier than that.
